Providing top-quality manufacturing is a daily must for Global Thermoforming. We are excited to officially announce our ISO 9001:2015 certification, Global Thermoforming 10008168 QM 15. Being awarded this certification directly affects our onsite operations – but the desire to do so is all about our clients. “We decided to become ISO 9001:2015 certified for a multitude of reasons,” comments Adam Bergauer, our Global Thermoforming General Manager, “but our key purpose is that we want our quality, on-time delivery, and scrap rate percentage to be at the top of our core capabilities.”

ISO Standards

Although the process Global Thermoforming undertook to become compliant was extensive, our customers can take away a more fundamental understanding of what this offers their projects.

Although the term “ISO Standard” may be somewhat familiar to you, the actual organization behind it may not. The International Organization for Standardization is a non-governmental organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. They are dedicated to setting up standards that ensure product safety and quality while encouraging innovation in a global marketplace.

ISO standards are voluntary, but any company committed to quality and safety will strive to achieve and exceed their requirements. Certification started the process of ISO 9001:2015 certification, we had to follow a series of 18 steps. As a global organization, ISO doesn’t perform the certification. Instead, Global Thermoforming worked with an independent certification body to audit their QMS implementation against the ISO requirements.

Plan-Do-Check-Act

Once in place, ISO 9001:2015 thermoforming certification provides a framework for improving quality, providing products for clients that are consistently on target with requirements and expectations, and even improving their overall efficiency.

A critical element of ISO 9001:2015 certification is a commitment to a Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle. This is an overarching philosophy that helps our company ensure that we’re prepared to engage in continuous improvement and examination of how our facilities work, how we can better meet customer needs, and communicate effectively with every part of our team. In fact, the Plan-Do-Check-Act list breaks it down into 4 functional areas: Risk-based thinking, Leadership participation, Unified Structure, and clarified documentation requirements.

Quality Management Systems (QMS)

Another key area of the ISO 9001:2015 certification addresses Quality Management Systems (QMS). Global Thermoforming has always engaged in employing the best practices for our clients in industries that include automotive, medical, and aerospace. Being ISO 9001:2015 certified consists of a comprehensive list of QMS recommendations, as well as a list of Seven Basic Quality Tools. In other words, our adherence to the ISO 9001:2015 certification is not only about the delivery of the highest-quality parts – it holds us to a higher standard on how we approach every project. The result is premium customer experience and an operation that is always building on our latest success.

These principles are continuously a part of the success stories here at Global Thermoforming, and we were pleased that they’re included with the certification guidelines. By incorporating these project management areas into 9001:2015, the ISO governing body continues to earn respect and trust of manufacturers.

With the ISO 9001:2015 Certification, Global Thermoforming is proud to share our UL Registration. This, of course, refers to the internationally recognized management system standards that provide customers with the official evidence of our company’s commitment to quality. Global is built on a promise to exceed client expectations, with our full range of concept development to production services for small-run to high-volume vacuum forming projects. We’re already recognized for our quality vacuum forming, close tolerance forming, and trimming capabilities for both thin gauge and heavy gauge materials, all with competitive pricing. Now, our customers can have even more faith in us because we follow one of the most international quality management systems. We use this standard to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
